Not less than 7 oil workers killed in an explosion at the Benin River Basin


The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has affirmed the passing of seven oil laborers murdered in a blast that happened at Gbetiokun, OML 40, worked by the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC), for the benefit of the NPDC/Elcrest Joint Venture. 

An announcement from the organization said the occurrence happened on Wednesday, July 8 during the establishment of a stepping stool on a stage (Benin River Valve Station) for access during releasing of Gbetiokun creation. 

The announcement said that a point by point examination concerning the reason for the blast has initiated.
